A note on professional containment

In our work together, we often talk about the importance of containment—creating a secure frame where deep work can happen safely. This page is the containment for our business relationship.

While the legal details below are necessary to protect the structure of my practice, my commitment to you is simple: Stewardship. Whether it is your data, your financial investment, or your professional vulnerability; I treat it with the same care and ethical rigor that I bring to the clinical space.

These policies exist not to create distance, but to create clarity. When we are clear about the boundaries of our work—from refunds to privacy—we are free to focus entirely on your growth.

Integrity in practice: Transparency and terms

Scope & responsibility

Educational purpose & scope: This website is an informational space designed to share resources and describe my mentorship services. Browsing this site or reaching out via the contact form does not establish a professional relationship; that formal partnership begins only when we have both signed a dedicated service agreement.

Professional Boundaries & Responsibility: Dr. Jennifer Fan acts as an educational consultant and is not a “Supervisor of Record.” Mentorship does not constitute clinical supervision for licensure, and Mentees retain sole clinical responsibility for their own practices and for applying all insights in accordance with their own licensure and governing ethical standards.

Outcomes & guarantees: While these services are designed to promote deep growth, I do not guarantee specific professional advancement. Your results depend on your unique circumstances and commitment.

Insurance: Insightful Praxis LLC maintains professional liability insurance appropriate for the educational and consultative nature of my work.

Business identity & doing business as (DBA)

Insightful Praxis LLC operates two distinct expressions: Dr. Jennifer Fan (bespoke mentorship) and Insightful Praxis (professional education). All contracts and legal liabilities are held under the parent company, Insightful Praxis LLC. 

Participation in mentorship is for professional development and does not constitute an endorsement, certification, or partnership with Dr. Jennifer Fan or Insightful Praxis LLC..

Privacy & data stewardship

Data usage: I use information you provide solely for administrative and communication purposes.

HIPAA standards: While I act as an educational consultant and not a healthcare provider, I voluntarily maintain Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) level confidentiality standards and view your professional data with the same stewardship as a clinical record. To maintain this standard, I do not store identifiable client records; all clinical case materials discussed must be fully de-identified by the Mentee. Our email and document storage systems are hosted through Google Workspace under a Business Associate Agreement (BAA).

Digital risk: While I use industry-standard security (including SSL encryption), absolute confidentiality cannot be guaranteed for information shared across the open internet.

Necessary Cookies: This site uses only necessary cookies required for technical functionality (like the secure client portal). I do not use third-party behavioral tracking or advertising cookies.

Rescheduling, Refund & Cancellation Policy

I view mentorship as a dedicated professional container. These boundaries ensure I can show up fully for our work and hold space exclusively for your growth. Please note that while this summary provides transparency, the specific legal terms in your individual Mentorship and Clinical Consultation Agreement will govern our work.

Session Management: Rescheduling requires 48 hours’ notice. To honor the reserved time, sessions moved with less notice are considered fully earned to honor the dedicated time held for our work.

Early Withdrawal: Early withdrawal requires 30 days’ written notice to allow for professional transition. An Early Termination Charge applies to cover administrative and replacement costs, as well as reserved capacity. 

Program Pause: A one-time 60-day pause is available if life circumstances require a temporary break from our active work.

Refunds & Fees: Fees for Clinical Assessments are non-refundable once the online assessment has been accessed or within 48 hours of a scheduled feedback session. For “Pay in Full” clients, prorated refunds are issued for the remaining balance calculated from the end of the notice period, minus the Early Termination Charge.

While these boundaries protect the practice, true emergencies will be reviewed with empathy on a case-by-case basis.

California consumer privacy act (CCPA) & Privacy Rights Act (CPRA)

No Sale of Data: I do not sell or rent your personal information.

Your Rights: You have the right to access, correct, or delete any personal information you have shared with me (such as through my contact form). Please reach out to me directly to exercise these rights.
